Would You Like a Song with That Burger?

This story still has me smiling!

If you are ever in or near Arden Hills, Minnesota, make sure to get off the ramp and go to McDonalds. It’s sure to put a smile on your face—and joy in your heart.

You see—they have the secret sauce.

What sauce?

Daniel Marshall, an employee, who will sing your order. And, if he doesn’t know your name, he will give you one!

“He really puts a smile on my face,” customer Emile Rabe said. “He really brightens my day.”

Twenty-two-year-old Marshall makes friends easily. But, it wasn’t always that way. Daniel is autistic, and when he was younger, he was frequently teased.

“I was called names, like I was dumb. I was stupid,” he said.

But something clicked when Daniel teamed with his McDonald’s manager, Ashley Sicora.

“I understand how he ticks,” Ashley says. “My youngest son is actually autistic as well.”

In the year that Daniel has been working at McDonald’s, customers have sent hundreds of messages complementing this polite, enthusiastic man who serves them.

The messages have garnered the attention of the restaurant owner, former Minnesota Viking Tim Baylor.

He literally makes people’s day,” Tim says. “Daniel is what you want.”

So, when you find yourself in Minnesota, take a side trip to Arden Hills.

Daniel is waiting to sing your order.
